The mysterious sound of Enigma defined a particular approach to electronic music: intimate voices, evocative flutes and hypnotic rhythms surrounded by atmospheric synthesizers. Enigmatica + Obscura Bundle takes that musical language into a more expansive direction, combining its recognizable melodic and rhythmic character with the darker, evolving textures of contemporary cinematic synthesis.
Designed for Waldorf Iridium, Iridium Core and Quantum, the bundle brings together 103 presets across two sound libraries, offering a wide-ranging palette of sampled instruments, expressive vocal textures, electronic sequences, cinematic pads and immersive soundscapes.
Enigmatica – The Human Side of Electronic Music
Created by Otto K. Schwarz, Enigmatica explores the unmistakable musical atmosphere associated with Michael Cretu's Enigma through 50 multi-layered, sample-based presets.
Gregorian-inspired vocals, Shakuhachi-style flutes, electronic drums, melodic basses and spacious synthesizer textures recreate the relationship between organic expression and electronic production that became a defining element of 1990s ambient pop and New Age music.
The collection includes recognizable musical references through sounds such as DR Sadness C3, DR Mea Culpa C3, FL Shakuhachi, VO Gregorian and PD D50, alongside expressive bells, atmospheric pads, processed guitars and additional vocal textures.
Rather than concentrating on a single category of synthesizer sounds, Enigmatica provides many of the individual elements needed to develop arrangements with melody, rhythm and a strong emotional identity.
Velocity, modulation wheel, expression and aftertouch assignments offer further control over the sounds, making the library suitable for both detailed studio production and expressive performance.
Obscura – Where the Atmosphere Changes
Obscura, developed by Marco Mayer, introduces 53 presets that explore another dimension of electronic synthesis: tension, transformation and the subtle movement of sound over time.
Its evolving pads, dark cinematic textures, atmospheric layers and Berlin School-inspired sequences provide a contrasting palette for arrangements that require depth and continuous sonic development.
Presets such as CRYOGENIC SKY, MIDNIGHT ETHER, DARK PLANET and VELVET HORIZON explore different shades of atmospheric synthesis, while GRAVITY PULSE, NOVA SEQUENCE and ORBIT PULSE introduce rhythmic energy and electronic movement.
The library combines single sounds with layered and split configurations, using modulation wheel and aftertouch assignments to provide expressive control over timbral changes and evolving textures.
Obscura can establish an entire cinematic environment or introduce the tension, rhythmic detail and harmonic movement that transform a simple musical idea into a more complex composition.
