Oberheim OB-8 + Explorations Bundle for Arturia MiniFreak / MiniFreak V brings together 140 synthesizer presets, combining the rich sonic heritage of vintage analog instruments with the expressive modulation, electronic movement and experimental possibilities of contemporary synthesis.

Created by Nick Klimenko and Otto K. Schwarz, these two complementary libraries approach the MiniFreak from different musical perspectives.

Oberheim OB-8 explores the distinctive tonal identity of an original analog synthesizer through carefully recorded source material, while Explorations develops a broader palette of expressive instruments, atmospheric textures and rhythmic electronic sounds.

Together, they offer a versatile collection for musicians who want to combine recognizable vintage character with imaginative electronic composition.

Oberheim OB-8 – The Legacy of Analog Sound

The Oberheim OB-8 is celebrated for its rich polyphonic character, expressive brass and strings, powerful basses and distinctive synthesizer leads.

Nick Klimenko's collection brings this musical heritage into the MiniFreak environment through 100 presets developed from 242 recordings of an original Oberheim OB-8.

Rather than relying exclusively on conventional synthesizer programming, the library uses authentic analog recordings as the foundation for a new generation of sounds.

Thanks to the sample-based synthesis capabilities introduced with MiniFreak version 5.0, the recorded material can be combined with the instrument's filtering, modulation and granular sound design possibilities.

The collection explores warm vintage polysynths, atmospheric pads, authentic analog-style strings, expressive leads, brass, deep basses, plucks, arpeggios and electronic sequences.

Sounds such as OB PolyPower, OB String, OB Classic BS, OB Classic LD, Unison Lead and Vintage Lead illustrate its strong connection to classic electronic instruments.

Explorations, created by Otto K. Schwarz, adds 40 original presets that investigate the creative possibilities of Arturia MiniFreak.

Its selection includes 6 basses, 1 brass sound, 5 keys, 8 leads, 10 pads and 10 sequences, offering a balanced combination of melodic instruments, atmospheric textures and rhythm-oriented electronic sounds.

The collection moves between spacious pads, bright plucks, expressive leads and dynamic sequences, with musical applications ranging from ambient and Berlin School to progressive electronics, psychedelic trance and techno.

A distinctive feature of Explorations is its approach to real-time expression.

Every preset includes assigned Modwheel and Macro 1 and 2 controls, allowing musicians to modify timbre, movement and other sound characteristics while playing.
