SR-JV80 EXP: Rebuilt Edition for Korg Wavestate brings the character of the historic Roland SR-JV80 expansion era into the Korg Wavestate environment through a detailed reconstruction process based on the original PCM waveform material.

This is not a simple locked sampling of complete factory-style presets. The library has been built with a different approach: each sound has been reprogrammed from the ground up, using the original PCM waveforms as the source material and rebuilding the preset architecture directly inside the Korg Wavestate engine.

The result is a collection of 255 waveforms and 255 presets, designed to preserve the structure, tone and musical identity of the original SR-JV80 sound world while taking advantage of the flexibility of a modern instrument.

Each preset has been reconstructed layer by layer, rather than captured as a single static audio snapshot. This means the sounds remain alive, expressive and editable. Envelopes, dynamics, LFOs, pitch behaviour, volume balance, panning, filters, cutoff curves and resonance settings have been programmed and calibrated element by element to get as close as possible to the behaviour of the original sounds within the Wavestate architecture.

The goal of SR-JV80 EXP: Rebuilt Edition is not to create a rigid hardware clone. The original Roland instruments of the 1990s had their own D/A converters, internal processing, filter response, effects behaviour and modulation curves. A perfect 100% match on a different synthesis platform is not physically possible. Instead, this library offers a faithful structural reconstruction: the source waveforms, the musical architecture and the performance logic are rebuilt for the Korg Wavestate with the clarity, control and flexibility of a modern engine.

This makes the product different from a conventional sample library. A standard sampling approach would capture the final sound of a preset as audio, often limiting the user to a fixed result. Here, the programmer has worked from the waveform level upward, reconstructing each patch as a programmable Wavestate preset. That gives the user a much more flexible musical instrument: sounds can be played, edited, adapted and integrated into modern productions while keeping the unmistakable flavour of the classic SR-JV80 PCM generation.

The library is ideal for musicians who want access to the atmosphere of 1990s PCM synthesis inside a contemporary Korg workflow: pads, keys, textures, synth layers, orchestral colours, hybrid tones, vintage digital timbres and production-ready sounds that connect the sound of a classic workstation era with the creative possibilities of the Wavestate.

SR-JV80 EXP: Rebuilt Edition is therefore both a tribute and a technical reconstruction. It respects the source material, avoids misleading claims of perfect hardware cloning, and gives Korg Wavestate users a large, editable and carefully programmed sound collection built around 255 original-style PCM waveforms and 255 rebuilt presets.

Technical Transparency Note:

SR-JV80 EXP: Rebuilt Edition is a reconstruction library created for the Korg Wavestate using SR-JV80 PCM waveform material as the starting point.

Although the presets have been rebuilt with maximum attention to layer structure, waveform mapping, envelopes, modulation, pitch, volume, panning, filters and resonance, this library should not be described as a perfect 1:1 hardware clone.

A completely identical result is not physically possible because the original Roland instruments and the Korg Wavestate use different hardware and sound engines. The D/A converters, analog output stages, filter behaviour, internal effects, envelope curves, LFO response and overall synthesis architecture are not the same.

For this reason, the library is best understood as a faithful structural reconstruction rather than a fixed clone. It preserves the musical architecture and classic PCM character of the original sound world while delivering the flexibility, clarity and editability of the Korg Wavestate platform.
