when the unmistakable character of a legendary analog synthesizer meets the unpredictable movement of modern electronic sound design?

Oberheim OB-8 + Synth Warp Bundle for Arturia MiniFreak / MiniFreak V explores this creative relationship through 165 synthesizer presets, combining vintage-inspired sounds, expressive electronic instruments, rhythmic sequences and atmospheric textures within one versatile collection.

At the heart of the bundle are two distinctive sound design approaches: the authentic tonal character of an original Oberheim OB-8, captured through sampling, and the dynamic electronic structures of Synth Warp, where arpeggios, evolving textures and synchronized effects create a different musical experience.

Created by Nick Klimenko and Alexander Kav, these complementary libraries offer contrasting interpretations of the MiniFreak synthesis environment, encouraging musicians to move freely between classic synthesizer character and more experimental electronic composition.

The Character of a Legendary Analog Synthesizer

The Oberheim OB-8 is remembered for its rich polyphonic character, expressive analog tones and distinctive musical presence.

Nick Klimenko's Oberheim OB-8 collection brings this heritage to MiniFreak through 100 presets developed from 242 recordings of an original Oberheim OB-8.

The original analog material forms the foundation for a broad selection of vintage strings, expressive leads, warm polyphonic textures, powerful basses, brass sounds, plucks and electronic sequences.

Through the sample-based and granular synthesis capabilities introduced with MiniFreak version 5.0, these recordings become a starting point for further sound creation, combining vintage sonic character with the filtering, modulation and processing possibilities of a modern hybrid synthesizer.

Sounds such as OB PolyPower, OB String, OB Classic BS, Unison Lead and Vintage Lead illustrate the collection's emphasis on familiar analog personalities, while its arpeggiated and sequenced sounds extend the original material into contemporary electronic territory.

The result is a sound palette that connects the musical warmth of a celebrated analog instrument with the creative possibilities of MiniFreak.

Synth Warp – Motion, Rhythm and Electronic Imagination

Where Oberheim OB-8 provides a strong connection to vintage synthesis, Synth Warp explores the more abstract and evolving side of electronic sound design.

Created by Alexander Kav, this collection contributes 65 presets centred on animated arpeggios, melodic sequences, rhythmic structures, atmospheric pads and experimental effects.

Synchronized delays interact with electronic patterns to create movement and rhythmic interest, while evolving textures, ambient soundscapes and soundtrack-oriented sounds introduce depth and contrast.

The collection moves between energetic electronic passages and more spacious environments, offering contrasting possibilities for both structured compositions and experimental sound exploration.

Its character is particularly relevant to modern electronica, ambient, downtempo and cinematic music, where patterns, modulation and atmosphere often become central elements of the arrangement.

Rather than concentrating on the recreation of historical synthesizer sounds, Synth Warp embraces a more exploratory approach, using the MiniFreak's digital synthesis capabilities to develop original electronic textures and musical motion.

Vintage Identity Meets Contemporary Creativity

The true strength of this bundle emerges from the relationship between its two different sonic identities.

An expressive Oberheim-style lead can provide the melodic centre of a composition, while a rhythmic sequence from Synth Warp introduces movement and structure. Vintage strings can add harmonic warmth to an electronic arrangement, while evolving pads and experimental textures create atmosphere and contrast.

This combination encourages musicians to approach the MiniFreak in new ways.

A synthwave production can connect classic analog-inspired timbres with contemporary rhythmic patterns. An ambient composition can combine warm polyphonic layers with abstract electronic movement. A cinematic soundtrack can draw on vintage strings, atmospheric textures and expressive sequences to develop a distinctive musical identity.

For studio producers, the collection offers contrasting sound sources for composition, sound design and multi-layered arrangements.

For live synthesizer performers, it provides a versatile selection of vintage-inspired tones, melodic instruments, arpeggios and evolving electronic sounds across different musical styles.

The contribution of two different sound designers further enriches the collection, bringing distinct programming philosophies into the same creative environment.

Oberheim OB-8 + Synth Warp Bundle combines 165 presets that connect the soul of vintage analog synthesis with the movement and imagination of modern electronic sound design.

From expressive strings, powerful basses and memorable leads to hypnotic sequences, evolving atmospheres and cinematic textures, this collection offers an expanded musical vocabulary for Arturia MiniFreak and MiniFreak V.

Two contrasting sonic worlds, brought together to inspire new arrangements, new compositions and new creative possibilities.

Features:

OBERHEIM OB-8

SYNTH WARP

Arturia ® is a registered trademark of Arturia which owns all rights on it.
