Each preset is developed to serve a specific musical or production function, whether establishing low-frequency pressure, reinforcing a dramatic passage or introducing synthetic elements into a soundtrack.

The character of Archetype comes from the interaction of oscillator behaviour, resonant filtering, envelopes, modulation and internal effects.

Basses can provide strong rhythmic foundations or sustained tension. Brass sounds introduce attack, weight and retro-futuristic character, while pads and synthetic textures expand the instrument into darker atmospheric territory.

The library also incorporates editable sound structures, integrated effects processing and performance-oriented control assignments, allowing musicians to adjust individual parameters and adapt the presets to different production requirements.

For Mercury-8 users, Archetype offers a distinctive alternative to traditional polysynth programming: an analog-inspired sound palette developed specifically for contemporary cinematic applications.

Axiom of Light – Expressive Analog Atmospheres

Axiom of Light adds 24 presets dedicated to atmospheric movement, harmonic development and spatial expression.

While Archetype emphasises dramatic definition, Axiom of Light explores the more fluid qualities of Mercury-8, using evolving modulation, oscillator interaction, filter movement, stereo chorus and internal effects to create sounds that develop naturally over time.

The collection includes luminous pads, cosmic drones, evolving textures, analog and FM-inspired keys, spatial arpeggios and subtle rhythmic pulses.

Its strength lies in the relationship between warmth, movement and harmonic complexity.

Slowly changing pads can provide emotional depth beneath melodic arrangements. Drones and atmospheric textures establish space and continuity, while animated sequences and keys introduce more articulated electronic movement.

Velocity response and modulation-wheel control contribute to the expressive nature of the presets, making Axiom of Light useful for both sustained atmospheric passages and more actively performed musical parts.

The library brings a complementary dimension to Mercury-8, exploring its potential for ambient composition, soundtrack development and contemporary analog-style sound design.

Two Libraries, One Expanded Musical Vocabulary

The value of combining Archetype and Axiom of Light becomes apparent when their sounds are used within the same arrangement.

Archetype provides definition, attack and dramatic intensity. Axiom of Light contributes continuity, harmonic space and evolving movement.

A resonant Archetype bass can establish the rhythmic foundation of an electronic track while an Axiom of Light pad introduces harmonic depth. Synthetic brass can define a musical accent, while an evolving atmospheric texture supports the progression beneath it.

In cinematic production, the relationship is equally practical.

Archetype offers more direct sound-design elements for moments of tension, action and dramatic transition. Axiom of Light supplies the sustained atmospheres, evolving textures and spatial layers required to establish mood and musical continuity.

Their contrasting characteristics make the two libraries particularly effective together, allowing composers to approach both the foreground and background elements of a production using a consistent analog-style synthesis environment.

Designed Around the Character of Mercury-8

Unlike a conventional collection of general-purpose synthesizer sounds, this bundle takes advantage of the expressive qualities that make Cherry Audio Mercury-8 particularly interesting for cinematic and electronic composition.

Oscillator interaction, filter modulation, envelope shaping, stereo effects and expressive parameter control contribute to the musical identity of both libraries.

These elements allow sound to develop beyond a static preset, with changes in resonance, harmonic content, attack, decay and spatial character becoming part of the composition itself.

Both libraries provide immediate access to carefully designed sounds while allowing further editing and personalisation.

This combination makes the bundle suitable for musicians who want to begin working quickly without sacrificing control over the underlying synthesis parameters.

A Versatile Collection for Modern Electronic Production

Across 44 presets, Archetype + Axiom of Light covers a wide range of complementary material:

Resonant cinematic basses, analog-style pads, atmospheric drones, synthetic brass, evolving textures, expressive keys, bells, arpeggiated patterns, percussive sounds and horror FX.

These sounds provide a foundation for film and game scoring, sci-fi soundtracks, ambient composition, dark electronic music, experimental production and retro-futuristic arrangements.

The combination is especially valuable for producers who need different types of sound within the same project: immediate and sustained, rhythmic and atmospheric, harmonically rich and deliberately minimal.

Archetype + Axiom of Light for Cherry Audio Mercury-8 delivers 44 presets across two complementary libraries, extending the instrument's role beyond conventional analog-style keyboard sounds and into a broader environment for cinematic composition, expressive performance and modern electronic sound design.

Features:

ARCHETYPE

AXIOM OF LIGHT

Cherry Audio ® is a registered trademark of Cherry Audio which owns all rights on it.
